In these photographs Rebecca is covered in Gold Leaf. I bought it from the local art supply store. It’s designed for the gilding of art, picture frames, small knick knacks and furniture. Since it’s mostly pure gold it’s generally non-toxic. We first sprayed Rebecca with cooking oil where we wanted to stick the gold. It comes in 5.5” by 5.5” squares separated by tissue paper. After separating a square from the back, we placed it gold side down against the skin, then slowly peeled away the tissue paper. Using a new, clean soft bristled brush we patted the gold against the skin to ensure it stuck.
