Start it recording when you approach such a building, and sling it around your neck. Leave it recording, and let it capture your interactions with security personnel. Then you'll have evidence that will get more attention. Also, check the camera periodically to ensure its continuing to record. In my experience, better-than-average Nikon and Canon pocket cameras will keep recording til the battery runs dry. Cameras of this type usually have street prices under $300. You might want to place a tiny bit of black gaffer or masking tape over any status lights that are visible from the front.
